Jilin University, founded in 1946, was listed as a national key university in 1960. In 1984, it became one of the first 22 universities to establish a graduate school. It is one of the first key universities by “Project 985” and “Project 211”, and the first batch of “Double First Class” universities.
Jilin University has a wide range of discipline categories, covering 13 categories including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, sciences, engineering, agriculture, medical sciences, management, arts, and interdisciplinary subjects. It has a complete top talent training system of bachelor, master, and doctor’s degrees, with a total number of more than 70,000 enrolled students. The school focuses on cooperation with world-renowned universities and gradually improves its global cooperation network, establishing cooperative relationships with 310 universities and research institutions in 42 countries and regions. IV. Eligibility for Application
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China holding a valid foreign passport.
2. Applicants must be 18-30 years old, in good health both mentally and physically, with a high school diploma.
V. Application and Enrollment Review Process
Step 1: Applicants submit their applications online at the International Student Service System of Jilin University.
Applicants must submit application documents, including the passport’s first page, high school diploma, academic transcripts, language qualification certificates and the Foreigner Physical Examination Form by July 15, 2025. Please see the attachment for details of the requirements.
Applicants should create an account at the Jilin University International Student Service System (http://apply.jlu.edu.cn), fill in personal information accurately and click “Submit” to complete the online application. Those who submit all the application materials will be entitled to an earlier review in the following stage.
Step 2: The College of International Education of Jilin University carries out a preliminary review.
The College of International Education will review the qualifications of the applicants according to enrollment requirements, focusing on academic background, language proficiency, identity qualifications, health status, etc., and consult the corresponding teaching and training units for a further review.
Step 3: The teaching and training units of Jilin University conduct a further review, remote interview or written test.
The teaching and training units will conduct a further review of the applicants’ academic performance, language proficiency, comprehensive quality, etc. and give feedback on the results to the College of International Education.
Step 4: The College of International Education notifies applicants of the enrollment results.
VI. Accommodation
The University has 6 international student dormitories with 594 rooms containing 1,056 beds. Dormitories are fully furnished to meet the needs of international students for study and living. The accommodation fee is 775-1200 RMB/month. Roommates are arranged in consideration of international students’ programs, preferences and other factors. For information on accommodation, please refer to the column of Post-Arrival Information under Admission Information (/rxxz/rjhxz1.htm) on the website of the College of International Education.
VII. Registration
The date of registration is planned to be September 2-3, 2025. Please refer to the admission letters and registration instructions for specific requirements and matters.
