As a regular program for international students in Jilin University, “Chinese Language and Culture Study” is designed by experienced teachers from School of International Chinese Language Education. It covers language skills and culture, aiming at increasing quickly their Chinese proficiency, laying a solid academic foundation, and cultivating students' comprehensive quality.
I. Application and Admission Time
Each year has two semesters: spring and Autumn.
1. 2025 Spring semester will start in March and the application time is from September 15th, 2024 till February 5th, 2025. Students will register on March 4th, 2025.
2. 2025 Fall semester will start in September. The application will be open in March till August. For the registration, please refer to the Admission Notice.
II. Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, with an age ranging from 18 to 60 in good health both mentally and physically.
2. The applicants must hold High School graduation certificate or above.

IV. Application and Enrollment Review Process
Step 1: Online Application Submission at Jilin University’s International Student Service System
Applicants must submit all application documents before February 5th, 2025, including a copy of passport photo page, notarized high school graduation certificate, academic transcripts, Foreigner Physical Examination Form, and etc. Please refer to the attachment for more details.
Applicants should register their account at the Jilin University’s International Student Service System (http://apply.jlu.edu.cn), fill in personal information accurately and click “Submit” to finalize the online application. Those with complete application materials will be given priority to the next round of review.
Step 2: Preliminary Review by the College of International Education of Jilin University
The College of International Education will review the qualifications of the applicants according to enrollment requirements, focusing on academic background, language proficiency, identity and qualifications, health status, etc.
Step 3: The Notification of Enrollment Results
The schoole will arrange enrollment and registration and other related matters in accordance with relevant state regulations.
V. Curriculum
According to the scores of the entrance Chinese level test, the Chinese learners will be put into the different classes. Each semester has about 15 weeks, with 20 hours of Chinese lessons per week, and selective courses are also available. Students can choose courses based on their interests.
